Semester 2
Semester2 :Our big focus for this semester of english was reading the book "Perks Of Being A Wallflower". When I went Into this book I actually wasn't very excited, but as time went by I came to really love the book and the movie. There are alot of relatable parts of the book, and parts that aren't, but are really important topics to talk about. I once watched a movie a while back and I didn't really enjoy it, but coming back to it after reading the book, I now have a new found love for the book and movie. There aren't many books that I like, because I am not very big on reading but this was one book that I genuinely enjoyed.
Dear Friend Journals
Dear Friend,
As a great man once said “Fridays are awesome”-Carl Azuz. Fridays truly are awesome, it's only the start of the day right now but I can tell that it's gonna be a great one, getting to see friends, my favorite teacher, and just living the school life. I've been feeling really positive about school lately. In the past I wasn't always like that. I used to have a horrible outlook on school, thinking it was useless and unnecessary. But now I see it as setting me up for a good future and a good life. So now I actually wanna do good in school because it even makes me happy just seeing my gpa at a 4.00 like that's a new feeling and it's a super cool one to have.I hope that once he starts coming to school, school starts to feel a bit more normal going in person. I hope that once he starts coming to school, school starts to feel a bit more normal going in person. Other things that I am happy about are,WANDAVISION. I literally love that show so much and it has me at the end of a string week by week. I am so excited to see what comes next for the marvel cinematic universe. Ohhh and i'm almost ready to get my license. I only have two more behind the wheel classes before I am able to take my road test and get my license. Overall I am doing great.
Love Always

Work Reflection
Name of Assignment: Dear Friend Journal
Subject: English
Facilitator/Teacher: Mr .Gorring
Description of Work/Assignment: Every class we would write a journal in the style of dear friend, like charlie in the Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Each journal would start with "Dear Friend" and end with "love always insert name".
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? The skill I feel that I used is interpersonal skills because I feel that I was able to demonstrate that I have respect and that I understand different parts of my life so that I can write down and explain how I feel.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I was proud of how I was able to express myself In ways that I usually don't.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? Writing about how I feel is not something that I am usually used to, but getting to do this I feel I Improved my skill.
What was most difficult about completing this task? I feel that the most difficult part was reaching the one page requirement for my journals.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently? When writing my journals it was not a requirement to have good grammar, so when going back and reading them it is sometimes hard to understand. If I were to go back and do it again I would spend more time working on my proper grammar.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? Well I am the result of everything that I have learned in my whole life, so I feel like What Ive learned causes what I go through, and that is what I write about.
How can you apply this to future learning? In the future say I ever need to express myself through text, I think that I can now do that well.

Semester 1
Semester 1:Our 10th grade English class focuses on writing poetry, journals, and prompts. The advice given by Mr. Goring and Mr. Bill is very helpful in improving my writing skills. This class is one of my favorites because in the past I haven't been a very good reader or writer but this class has helped me improve and I hope it continues to help.
Reflection:
Eating Poetry
For the eating poetry assignment we were tasked with reading the Poem Eating Poetry and figuring out what it's about. I had concluded that the poem is not literal and signifies the writer's inner animal coming out. For the eating poetry assignment, I used critical thinking to analyze and figure out what the poem was about on the surface level and deeper levels. I believed that I improved on this skill learning to look at things at a deeper level and not take things at face value. I'm proud of the conclusion I came to about the writer becoming so consumed by poetry that his inner beast was released. Though I'm proud of my work If I did It again I would be more thorough with my answers and dig deeper into the questions. I had the most trouble looking past what the poem meant literally and getting to understand it more deeply. In the past, I've always read and written poetry in class but I never really understood it until now, now I know the clues to look for and where to look for them. I know that in the future of this class at least we will be doing a lot more poetry reading and writing and I feel like this assignment will help me strive on those topics in the future.
