The Music Class Cafe
After Mr Gorring visited Mrs Alexander's blackjack night, he was inspired to do something like that for our music class. As a class we got together and decided that on may 19th our classroom would be transformed into a thriving cafe. We would serve food, and each of the students will be performing live music. There would also be food aswell as merchandise for sale. I myself performed two songs, and then playing the guitar for 2 other people. I have yet to choose the songs that I play. I was also tasked with building the stage for the class. It is pretty large and will be a lot of work but the Pruetts always get it done. I used interpersonal skills in this project because we all had our own tasks and each of us needed to pull our own weight and figure out a system of how we can all work together in the most efficient way possible. And this is unique because it is something I've never done before. As a class I feel that we have really connected well considering how small our class really is. In the future I can use my skills I've learned about building, because us Pruetts traditionally prefer to do or build things themselves, as opposed to buying something.
Reflection:
Our class was tasked with creating a google slideshow presentation which would show the history of a musician or band of our choice. I went with the 80s punk rock group The Smiths. The Smiths is a band that is very important to me and I am proud that I was able to tell an accurate story of who they are. There is an abundant amount of 21st century skills that I used during this project. But the one that really sticks out to me is information literacy. Throughout the project I had to take in information from many sources, some credible some not. I feel that I have developed a better understanding of how to process and organize information because of this project and it is something that I will be able to put to use in my junior project. I struggled a lot when it came to finding credible information about the group considering that there reality isn't much out there. I would honestly love to do this project again and possibly make the slideshow look more visually pleasing. Although I am happy with my slide show it demonstrates the ability to form a slideshow which has structure and a theme. Something which I learned a tech class when I was younger
